Environmental Management · ISO 14001
ISO 14001 Consultant, Belgium and the Benelux.
An ISO 14001 environmental management system is increasingly what a tender asks for and what a larger customer expects before they will sign. MEDCOR builds that system the same way it builds a quality system: a gap analysis first, then a prioritised route to certification, run by a senior pharmacist who already oversees environmental management systems at group level.
Public and corporate buyers increasingly score tenders on environmental credentials, and a recognised ISO 14001 certificate is the cleanest way to answer the question.
When you need this
You need ISO 14001 when a tender awards points for a certified environmental management system, when a customer's ESG or supplier-qualification process asks whether you hold one, or when you want to put the environmental side of the business on a footing that holds up to scrutiny rather than a policy statement on a website. For many Benelux companies it has moved from a nice-to-have to a condition of being shortlisted.
The standard itself has moved on. The current edition carries the 2024 climate-change requirement, so the analysis of your organisation's context now has to weigh climate change and wider environmental conditions, and companies certified to the older edition have a defined window to transition. MEDCOR works to the current standard from the start, so the system you build is the one the auditor will expect to see, not one you have to revisit a year later.
Gap analysis first, then a route to certification
As with quality systems, the effort depends on what you already do in practice. MEDCOR starts with a gap analysis and prices the build from its findings, so you see the scope before you commit.
Gap analysis
A review of how you currently manage environmental aspects against every requirement of ISO 14001, clauses 4 to 10, including the climate-change and lifecycle considerations in the current edition, with an on-site look at your operations. The result is a written report with the findings set out clause by clause.
Prioritised action plan
A plan that puts the gaps in order of what matters for certification, with an estimate of the effort each one takes and an indicative timeline. You see the size of the job before you take it on.
Implementation and certification
Identifying environmental aspects and compliance obligations, building the documentation and controls, running the internal audits and management review, and supporting you through the certification audits with an accredited certification body.
What this covers
- —A gap analysis against ISO 14001, clauses 4 to 10, including the current climate-change and lifecycle requirements, with a written report and a prioritised action plan.
- —Identifying your significant environmental aspects, compliance obligations, and the risks and opportunities that go with them.
- —Building the environmental management system: policy, objectives, operational controls, documentation and records.
- —Internal audits, management review and the groundwork a certification audit expects to see.
- —Support through certification and recertification audits with an accredited certification body.
- —Running ISO 14001 alongside ISO 9001 as one combined management system, so the two are not maintained twice over.
